Music

I started playing music in high school with my friends in the band Cat, Jump! and eventually writing very mediocre songs as a solo musician (Owen Pye). I began performing at various venues throughout the midwest trading shows with bands I met on MySpace and hosting touring bands in my parents basement in Highland, Illinois, eventually garnering some regional attention and getting to perform with bigger acts. Here’s some more noteworthy moments of my years performing:

On August 30th, 2012 I got to open for Bleach at Joshua Fest in Plymouth, CA for their reunion set where they played Again for the First Time from front to back. They were missing their drummer, but Ethan Luck played instead for them. So that was an honor to share the stage with all those guys. 

On April 6th, 2013 I got to open for Noah Gundersen and Denison Witmer at The Firebird in St. Louis, MO. Denison has been one of my wife and I’s favorite artists for years. We even got to host him for a house show in our Lebanon, IL apartment back in 2010. I had never heard of Noah until that show and man is he incredible.

On July 24th, 2013 I had the pleasure of winning a slot at the Vans Warped Tour playing the Acoustic Basement stage opening for I Can Make a Mess (Ace Enders of The Early November), The American Scene, Craig Owens and others. 

On December 3rd, 2014 I opened for Kris Allen at Fontbonne University in St. Louis, MO. Earlier that year Fontbonne awarded me their ‘Friend of Fontbonne’ award. ❤ 

So many stories and memories. I still perform occasionally and some day I will put out some new music. In the meantime here’s some music I’ve been apart of through the years:
